K9 Judge

with handler Sergeant Jacob Pinho

Judge was born on 10/19/2017 and is a 58-pound male black Labrador Retriever. Judge is certified in tracking persons and narcotics detection by the Connecticut State Police K9 Unit and State Forensic Laboratory and in accordance with NESPAC standards. Judge has been serving the department since January 2020 and is partnered with Sergeant Jacob Pinho.

 

K9 Indy

with handler Sergeant Danielle Durette

Indy was born on 03/17/2019 and is a 64-pound male black Labrador Retriever. Indy was trained and donated to the department from the nonprofit organization Puppies Behind Bars. Indy is an ADA certified service dog and is trained to assist with PTSD and anxiety following a trauma. Indy is the departments first service dog and is utilized for first responder wellness, community relations and victim services. Indy has been serving the department since August 2020 and is partnered with Sergeant Danielle Durette. The name “Indy” was given to him from his sponsor, a United States Navy Veteran who served on the USS Indiana.

 

K9 Hardy

Hardy was born on 03/01/2023 and is a 60-pound German Shephard. Hardy is certified in tracking persons, apprehension and evidence recovery by the Connecticut State Police K9 Unit and in accordance with NESPAC standards.  Hardy has been serving the department since May 2024 and is partnered with Officer Michael Gigliotti.
