CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY (CPS) TECHNICIANS

The Naugatuck Police Department is dedicated to providing the public with critical information and services regarding the safety of child passengers. Our department Certified Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Technicians are available to inspect the installation of child safety seats and educate caregivers how to properly install them. Please call the Naugatuck Police Department to see when a CPS technician is working.

Things you'll need for an evaluation:

All components of the car seat.

Car seat manual & vehicle manual.

We recommended that you bring your child with you to the evaluation so the technicians can record their age, height, and weight. Additionally, the technicians will show you how to properly secure your child in the seat and how the harness system works.

If you are unable to have your child with you, please know your child’s current age, height and weight. Without this information, the technicians may not be able to install your seat.
