Arrested Suspect: WARNER, Frank  (DOB: 6/3/1970) of Winsted CT

On October 17, 2014 at approximately 12:37 AM Naugatuck Police Officers were dispatched to Cumberland Farms (527 North Main Street) on a report of a robbery.

Responding officers spoke with a store employee who provided a description of a white male suspect who entered the store and began to purchase candy. The employee advised that when he opened the store cash register, the male subject went over the counter and stole money from the register drawer and ran out of the store. The male suspect then got into a vehicle and headed towards Route 8 north.

Investigating officers obtained a vehicle description and partial registration plate from the store employee and officers later determined the vehicle to be stolen. Based on information obtained from the stolen vehicle, Naugatuck Detectives were able to identify a suspect.

Later during the morning of Friday 10/17/14, Naugatuck Detectives were following up the investigation in Waterbury and came across the suspect driving the stolen vehicle. Naugatuck Detectives followed the vehicle and alerted Waterbury PD. The suspect was apprehended a short time later in Waterbury.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Naugatuck PD where he was charged with Third Degree Robbery, Second Degree Larceny, Sixth Degree Larceny, Second Degree Breach of Peace, and Second Degree Criminal Trover. The suspect is being held on a $250,000.00 bond by Naugatuck Police and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Monday 10/20/14.
