Looks like this nice warm March weather will continue into the weekend – very sorry for you cold weather - snow lovers … but us warm weather – sun lovers are loving every moment of this….hopefully it doesn’t snow in July to even out this mild winter!!
The warmer weather apparently gets people in the mood for stealing…. The NPD handled a number of larcenies yesterday including a report at about 11:30 AM that tires … yes tires … were stolen off a vehicle on Union city Rd ….
…We also had a recovered stolen motor vehicle (2006 Volvo V50) from Bristol. … Officers were dispatched to New Haven Road at about 1:30 PM after a very alert citizen called police after seeing the operator remove plates from the car and throw them into a garbage can and left walking up New Haven Rd. … This is what we need more of folks – a suspicious person call that led to an arrest! …. The subject was located based on the description provided by the caller and a check of the vehicles information confirmed it had indeed been stolen from Bristol.
….It should be also noted that the vehicle was stolen after it was being warmed up by the owner … with the keys in the ignition …. I know this occurred out of Bristol, but take note – if you are going to warm up the car, invest in a car starter … if for no other reason it will keep you from having to walk out to the car to start it … and it may still actually be there when you go to use it!!
