12/21/2015 - Whats Happening in Naugy - 12.25.15

Greetings all,

Good Monday morning – Its Christmas week and its starting to look a lot like Christmas…. In the Caribbean!! This weather is definitely not “New England” like for Christmas but…any time we can cheat winter out of a few day - I’m all In!!!

So – here’s what’s happening here in Naugatuck ….

The past weekend NPD conducted motor vehicle enforcement on Meadow Street, North Church Street, City Hill Street and Prospect Street to name a few, several infractions and warnings were issued for various violations including speeding – please folks, slow it down – believe me we know you all get rushed, but lets safely get to our destinations so we can all have a happy holiday!!

We made 9 arrest between Friday and this morning as follows:

2 – “Domestic “related, 1 – “Motor Vehicle” related, 1- “Drug” related, 1- “Warrant” (Failure To Appear) related and 4- “Shoplifting related …. It is the holiday season after all!

….For more information on these arrest please visit our Web Page under “Arrest & Press Releases” http://www.naugatuckpd.org/filestorage/230/668/670/12.21.15_Arrests.pdf

We had three motor vehicle accidents reported – none serious – however there were minor injuries in a collision that involved a car vs telephone pole that occurred yesterday morning at about 8:15 AM near 218 Rubber Ave..

We had a report of license plates being stolen off of a car at Round Tree drive (Lantern Park) on Sunday – so if anyone sees CT Reg “985-WUU” on anything other than a tan 1992 Oldsmobile …. Let us know!!

There was a stolen vehicle recovery on a car stolen from Bridgeport which was discovered on Picture Lane on Friday… Thanks for the report by a resident that noticed the car had been sitting a few days and alerted us.

Finally we had several “Vandalism” reports come in this weekend…some were the garden variety “damage to Christmas ornaments” that we always get this year….bunch of Grinch’s!!! …. But we also hd a home “egged” on Marshhill Rd, and a “Paint Gunning” to a home on Spring Street (No – it wasn’t ours PD!!)  …. There was also reported damage to a car on Lounsbury Street.

So that’s it – that’s What’s Happening in Naugy – please remember to lock your cars and keep valuables out of sight -= and for the love of St. Nick, don’t leave those cars running with the keys in the ignition unattended… Ask jolly ole’ Santa for a car starter instead!!

Thanks and have a safe and happy Monday – We’ll be here!!
