9/10/2015 - NPD Press Release - Arrests - Stolen Soccer Goal thefts

The Naugatuck PD has arrested two subjects in connection with stolen parts removed from several soccer posts located at Rotary Field late last month. Naugatuck Officers and Detectives were able to tie the suspects to the thefts after some of the stolen parts were located at a local scrap metal yard.

Naugatuck PD opened the investigation on August 29, 2015 after being advised by the Naugatuck Youth Soccer league that about 10 soccer goals had been disassembled and metal parts from the goals had been stolen. The soccer league estimated the replacement costs of the goal parts to be valued at over $10,000.00.

During the course of this investigation, the two suspects were developed and identified as 37 year old Philip Kelley and 35 year old Jamie Perugini, both of Naugatuck. Both subjects were charged as follows:
