Hi Everyone,

Happy “Too Bad” Tuesday!!...I know – I know, Its Thursday….But its been a whale and I didn’t want to go another week without posting one… This is a VERY popular segment and the natives get restless when they don’t get their fill!!! ….We picked out some good ones for you today ….so sit back …and enjoy!!

…before we begin I must put out our usual disclaimer:

"All persons in these segments are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and we reserve the right to change the names of those involved (if names are used at all) to protect the innocent" ...

…Ok, Here it is – the TOO BAD TUESDAY (I know – I Know…THURSDAY!) – ARRESTS REVIEW:

On January 22, 2015 Naugatuck Officer Field (….no relation to actress Sally) was dispatched to the lobby of the Naugatuck Police department for a complaint of credit card/ fraud.
Officer Field spoke with the victim who advised that a few days earlier she noticed a charge of $165.00 on her bank statement that she did not recognize. The victim stated that she spoke with her bank and was told that the transaction was a money wire through Western Union. The victim then contacted Western Union and was told the transaction was made on line and that the money was wired to a location in Naugatuck, CT which was picked up and signed for. The victim filed a fraud report with Western Union and was advised to contact her local police department file a report….(which of course…. led us to this Too Bad post!) ….
….Officer Field took the ball and ran with it….and promptly contacted the Western Union fraud department and received information from them regarding the transaction….. Upon reviewing the information Officer Field found that the person receiving the funds was known to the victim, (…. No – it was NOT the “butler”… Nice guess though….) …. Officer Field discovered that the accused was a friend of the family, as the victim advised officer Filed that the accused had been over to her house several times….The accused was positively identified based on the descriptions provided….including the use of a cell number by the accused which the victim advised had been used by the victims family in the past to contact the accused….( … I can not for the life of me – figure out why people think that they can getaway with these types of crimes…. I mean – it stands to reason that if you walk into a place and they ask you for ID, phone numbers, etc… and you provide them with those items….particularly if you provide your ACTUAL information…. That there is a strong likelihood that you are going to be found out…I don’t know, maybe its just me….cant make this stuff up though… why would I try!!!!) …Any-who... Officer Field made an arrest of the subject who was promptly housed in our finest suite and the NPD B&B…The accused was charged with “Identity Theft” and “6th Degree Larceny” …..it was assumed that upon release, the accused was not invited over to the victims residence for the Easter holiday…..

On March 22, 2015 Naugatuck Police Officer McGarvey (…Yes – THAT Officer McGarvey… The co-star of yesterdays “DID YOU KNOW” segment…. ….Yes I am plugging the segment HARD….in a weak attempt to get more “Likes”….Hey! - don’t judge me! ….. it was a good segment… very informative…. Check it out…. When your done with this segment of course!!...)
Anyway - where was I…oh yes… …. Officer McGarvey was dispatched to a residence to speak with the resident about harassing phone calls…. Officer McGarvey spoke with the female victim who advised she had previously been in a dating relationship with the accused of which they also have a child together….The victim stated that one of the reasons they separated is that she suspects the accused may have a drinking problem…. The victim advised that she moved in with her mother upon breaking up with the accused …. But that he is “extremely jealous”….
To make matters worse, the victim added that her mother does not get along with her ex….(Now, we all know what happens when mama don’t like the ex….. this has all the makings of a “Jerry – Jerry” episode…..) …..The victim advised that she requested her ex to stop texting and calling her, and that a few nights earlier, the two had a verbal argument in another town just a couple towns north of Naugatuck in which the police had been called…. The victim advised that those officers advised both subjects not to contact each other… (this is where they always go wrong folks… no – not the police, the subjects involved….The officer issue the warning and the it seems that one or sometimes both subjects just kinda – “Glance” over the warning…ya know, the kick the tires on the warning – but they don’t buy into it…. But lets not jump to conclusions just yet, lets see how this one plays out shall we…..) The victim stated that she sent her ex one more text asking him to stop contacting her and to handle the child issues in court…(…ok, seems reasonable…) ….The victim stated that the accused replied by sending her over 100 text messages to her phone in a 24 hour period….and that they were not stopping….(…ok, seems not so reasonable….but hold on – theres more….) The victim further advised that her ex got so mad at her not responding, that he apparently “broke” his phone and then tried to contact her through a friends phone….The victim sated she knew this because her ex texted her pictures of his smashed phone via the friends phone… (…told ya – its getting very “Jerry-Jerry-ish”….)… The victim expressed concern that she was not sure what the ex was capable of and that she was fearful for her safety….which Officer McGarvey felt was a reasonable statement based on the information provided….
Officer McGarvey contacted the ex…via his friends phone of course….to which the ex stated he had contacted her as the other police department stated he could contct his ex concerning their child….He further claimed that the two had actually had a conversation concerning the child and further claimed that his ex contacted him….however he was unable to produce any evidence of that through phone logs….
Based on the logs Officer Mcgarvey did observe, he advised he totaled approximately 150 text message and 40 facetime attempts on the victims phone from the ex and the ex’s friends phone within a 24 hour period……Based on the facts gathered during this investigation, Officer McGarvey submitted for and received an arrest warrant for the Ex – charging him with “Second Degree Harrassment” …. The accused was arrested and housed in a cinder block & bars view suite, complete with a “text free – un breakable” telephone….courtesy of the NPD – B&B….

On April 1, 2015 Officers Zainc and O’Connor were dispatched to 732 New Haven Road…The New Haven Motor Lodge….for a domestic disturbance. The caller stated he heard what he thought was a physical altercation in the room next door. Upon arrival officers spoke with the “Accused #1 (Male…. We will refer to him as “Ma” or “Male Accused”….ingenious huh…. Sometimes I can come up with them… ) and officers immediately noticed fresh red scratch marks on his arms and hands and a fresh red scratch mark above his left eye. When asked how he got the marks “MA” stated he does physical labor for a living and got scratched from using building material at work…. (THAT is a great excuse….if this was the officers first day on the job….unfortunately for him – it was not….) …. When asked if a physical or verbal altercation occurred, “MA” stated one had not and that he and his wife were simply talking…(Wife by the way is about to get new name as well…for the purposes of the story – lets call her “FA” or “Female Accused”…They didn’t make me a Lieutenant for nothing folks….) … Officer then spoke with “FA” who stated that she had come over to her “MA’s” residence to get clothing and that they were verbally arguing over an issue with their daughter…. (Goodness…. The story is changing already??? …. I can’t believe it!!...) …. Officers noted that “FA” was very red in the face, sweating, and seemed short of breath. When asked why she was disheveled and if any physical altercation had occurred, “FA” politely explained that she was simply “tired” and that claimed that no physical altercation had occurred… (Well – I don’t know about you folks, but I know that when I get tired and ready for bed my face gets VERY red coupled with sweaty palms ….and shortness of breath…. NOT!!.... those are actually symptoms of me getting OUT of bed when I smell D-Words …. But that a story for another time….) …. Officer took in the great story telling and ran a couple checks on their magic computers ….and wouldn’t ya know it…. The computer spit out the fact that the two stars of our story had an active protective order issued involving each other….. Based on information obtained from witnesses coupled with the officers observations …not to mention the protective order violations…both subjects were arrested and charged with “Disorderly Conduct”…. As well as a charge of “Protective Order Violation” for our friend “MA”…..The couples room accommodations were transferred to the Naugatuck PD B&B…. The new “protective order” friendly “honeymoon suite” may I add …which comes complete with a physical barrier made of concrete and steel between the two “lovebirds” keeping them completely out of sight or sound of one another- it’s a dream come true for the “prohibited contact couple”…. We are always thinking here at the NPD B&B….Don’t you forget it!!....

…So - there you have it - this weeks Too Bad Arrest review … Hope you enjoyed, and Please - have a great Thursday… and remember – We’ll be here if you need us!!
