Well, we have a bit of an issue on Old Waterbury Turnpike / South Main Street Waterbury (on the town line)... Seems that as bad as your day is going... this truck drivers was worse... He attempted to navigate th
e turn out of the parking lot ....except that the snow bank he thought ... was JUST a snow ba
nk....it had a jersey barrier buried in it....which caused the trailer to uplift and the load to spill all over the road way..."Instant - Presto - Mess-O"....
....Both Naugatuck and Waterbury PD's are on scene directing cars around the mess... As you can see - our own Officer Carl Schaaf is still smiling...but if people don't start obeying the detour set up for south bound motorist...I promise they will turn that smile to a frown!!!
...Motorist should avoid the area all together if possible as it is expected to take a few hours to clean up the mess and remove the truck.... If you MUST go that way, know that south bound motorist (coming from Waterbury towards Naugy or Rt 8) are being detoured down Platts Mill Rd.. Motorists coming from Naugy or Rt 8 are not being detoured, however - they are expected to encounter significant delays as crews work to clean up the massive mess!!
