2/12/2015 - PRESS RELEASE - 2.11.15 - Paiva's Liquors Attempted Robbery

February 11, 2015

At approx. 5:50 PM The Naugatuck PD received a report of an attempted robbery of Paiva’s Liquors located at 161 Rubber Ave. Naugatuck. The on duty clerk reported that a heavy set white male entered the store wearing a hunter green colored jacket and a white baseball cap and demanded cash. The clerk observed the suspect holding a small dark object which was suspected to be a knife. The clerk advised that she refused to give the subject cash and that upon doing so the suspect fled the store on foot. Naugatuck PD units searched the area utilizing a police K9 however the suspect was not located.
No surveillance footage was available to be released. The investigation is still active and no further details are available at this time.
