NPD Facebook Post - 12.24.14 - DB Gift to Lt. Dean!
Here's a little Christmas story to keep you all warm ...I know - I know, it's practically summer out - so, just play along!..
... See, our Detectives are a hard working bunch, but when they play, they play just as hard!
... So what they did was combine forces with all of the officers of the PD and start collecting empty - previously used coffee cups from Dunkin Donuts ... It was a
ll part of an evil plan they devised and started laying the foundation for several weeks back ... (All, by the way, suspected to have been masterminded by Detective Mike "The Sweater" Wawrzyniak - as seen in the accompanied photos... See if you can pick him out!!)
...Now, to tell the story properly, I have to take us back in time a little .... Back to an easier, simpler time ... Way back to Thursday October 9th, 2014 .... (Ok - two and a half months ....that's a long time ...in dog years anyway!! ..... )
...Anyway, on 10/9/14 I posted a throwback photo of Lt. Greg Dean ... The current Detective Division commander .... in which I mentioned how he regularly walks the roadway near his home in Naugatuck picking up trash that gathers...
.... Well, all his detectives, as well as many current and former NPD co workers know this ... and it is strongly suspected that some of them may or may not part take in purposely-accidentally dropping cups and cans in front of his home... This of course drives the LT nuts....
...SO - back to the present .... The detectives took their collection of empty D&D cups and they created a kind-a Holliday memorial ....at the LTs home!!
... Like busy little delinquent elves - (...FYI - before their shift started!) ... they littered ... Or ehh ... "Decorated" his yard .... with what appeared to be hundreds of coffee cups ... (Pretty much a solid two days worth at the NPD!!) ... The "decorating" included a makeshift Christmas tree... Also made out of coffee cups ... dressed with pictures and other "ornaments"....
...the attached photos show the excitement of the moment the LT came out of his home to discover the "decorating"!
... Great job guys .... Can't wait to see what they plan for St. Patrick's Day!!!
... Oh - one last thing ... The Detectives wanted to update everyone that there are still no leads on the D-Word abduction .... Although ... And this is just my observation ... SOMETHING had to get washed down with all that coffee!!! ...
