Good Tuesday Everyone,

Ok, its Tuesday which means we are all set with another segment of “TOO BAD TUESDAY – WEEK IN REVIEW” where we will cover a quick rundown of some of the past weeks arrests here in the Borough…

But first, I must announce the winner of the second round of NPD’s Got talent… The segments were Bangor performing “Bird’s the Word” (16 likes … very disappointing…) and Sgt. Pettinicchi and Ofc. DaSilva performing their “Figure skating” routine (31 likes … and several comments!!) … so the Round two winner is….
Sgt. Pettinicchi and Ofc. DaSilva!!! Congrats boys on making it to the championship Round… But I must say… its going to be hard for you boys to top that routine!!

Ok – So on we go with “Too Bad Tuesday” for November 18th…Before we begin I must put out our usual disclaimer:
"All persons in these segments are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and that we reserve the right to change the names of those involved (if names are used at all) to protect the innocent" ... Ok, Here it is – the TOO BAD TUESDAY – WEEK OF ARRESTS REVIEW:

*On 11/16/14 The Naugatuck Police arrested Mr. Infinitti Robinson of Waterbury on an outstanding warrant from this agency stemming from an incident that occurred on January 23, 2014. On that date at about 5:30 PM, Naugatuck police were called to Aetna street for a 911 hang up call. Officer Savoy and
Moutella investigated and discovered that Infinitti became involved in an argument with an adult female at her car, during which the female victim advised infinitti “spit in her face” and “grabbed her by her hair and dragged her out of her car” onto the ground. The victim advised that Infinitti then punched her repeatedly. The officers observed cuts, bruises and scrapes on the victim which were consistent with her statement…. Infinitti was charged with Breach of Peace and Assault in the 3rd Degree….infinitti was booked for a free - full nights stay at the Naugatuck PD B&B…. Do not know if he enjoyed the view….

*On 11/10/14 Officers Field and Castro were dispatched to tawny thrush Rd. on a report of a domestic dispute. The officers spoke with the adult victims mother who advised that her daughters boyfriend accused her of “cheating” on him and became upset. The victim and her mother advised that he proceeded to knock over chairs and a flat panel TV The Victim advised that she tried to leave the home and that the boyfriend grabbed her by her scarf, but that she was able to break free and leave the home and contacted the Police …. The boyfriend was identified as Mr. Aaron Ewings on Naugatuck… He was arrested on 11/13/14 on an active arrest warrant based on this incident… He was charged with Assault in the 3rd Degree, Disorderl
y Conduct and unlawful restraint… Ewing also received a complimentary stay at the NPD B&B …. And ironically enough, the flat panel TV in that suite was out of service…..

*On 11/14/14 Naugatuck Police were dispatched to Walmart on a shoplifting complaint (…. Again, These are some of my favorites…), Officers Pucci and Bailey investigated and spoke with the store Detective who advised that he observed a female shopper (later identified as a female “shop-Lift-er”…) in the “Mens” section with a cart containing clothing, toys and a movie (sounds like something you’d watch on “E” network… “Tonight, on Clothing, toys and a Movie…”) … The store Detective then observed the woman proceed to the changing rooms (….RED FLAG ALERT!!...) and observed her take some of the clothing (ok, not so unusual…) along with the movie and the toy (…why on earth would she need to …. Ohhhhh – ok – I get it…. Yea, not much need for those things in a changing room ….)The store detective then observed her exit the changing room and no longer had the toy or movie (…. Where did they go?...) The woman then proceeded to the front of the store and left the cart with the rest of her merchandise in it and headed out of the store past all points of purchase… where she was stopped and questioned by the store detective…. The female admitted she had taken the merchandise and was detained for the NPD…. The shopper was identified as Nicole Pagano of Ansonia… She was charged with Larceny in the 6th Degree….and she is no longer welcome in Walmart….

*On 11/14/14 Officer Julian was monitoring traffic on North Main Street utilizing a laser speed detection unit, he observed a vehicle traveling over the posted speed limit and confirmed the speed of the vehicle on the laser unit… Officer Julian stopped same and spoke with the operator and immediately detected a strong odor of marijuana (….Uh – Ohhhh) … Officer Julian mentioned his “detection” to the operator who advised that she did just happen to have several “marijuana cigars” (such a nice term…) in her ashtray…. The operator also advised that she had just smoked marijuana before leaving her house (… Okay – just for the record, driving while impaired DOES include being high … or being buzzed…. From drugs… including prescription…..really, it does…. Ok, lets return to our arrest….) Officer Julian had the operator perform some roadside field tests…. of which she failed… the operator was placed under arrest and was transported to the “INN”, where she was charged with Traveling Fast and DUI… The operator was identified as Ms. Megan Ricci of Waterbury…. BTW, we still have no idea what the hurry was in the first place….

*On 11/14/14 NPD Officer were dispatched to Walmart on a shoplifter in custody (… Tis the season!!...) … Now I will do something a little different with this one… again because I think the Walmart variety shoplifting's are some of the most fascinating ones…. I’m going to “title” this one… I will call this one “the ‘ole switch-a-roo”…. Officer s Bailey and Periera respond and speak with the store detective who advises that he observed an man and woman shop and load their cart up with “all kinda goodies” (my term – Not his….) they then proceed to the check out (… Now listen closely,
cause this happens fast...) The male walks away from the area of the transaction (… Ahhh-Hummm….) and the female stays to pay for the items (… Ahhh –Hummmm…) … The cashier is then seen talking to the female and the female starts to walk away – with the “cart-o-goodies” (Again – My term – not theirs…) … The woman wheels the goodies out of the store (… AHHHHHH – HUMMMM …. Hey – You… yea, you….with the Red Flag – Any time now!! …. I have no idea what he was waiting for!!!..) … Okay, so the store detective talks with the cashier who advises that the payment transaction did not go through … so the detective tracks the two shoppers dow
n in the parking lot, seated in their vehicle…. With all the goodies placed into it… the store detective confronts them on the fact that the transaction didn't go through and that they walked away from the cashier … and they claimed they were going to bring the merchandise back (…I’m guessing they were going to drive it back into the store???...) The shoppers were identified as Ms. Wilmarie Vidal of Watebury and Mr. Karon Nealy of Waterbury…. And the merchandise was valued at $443.73 …. Now, they did not get to keep the merchandise…and they are no longer welcome in Walmart, BUT….they did receive an all expense paid night at the NPD B&B…. separate rooms of course….. and were charged with Larceny in the 6th Degree…

Now these people were all arrested … which is always “Too Bad” (Hence the name “Too Bad Tuesday”)… but my dream is still alive that one week, I will have no material to provide for this segment…. We’ll just have to wait and see!!….
Okay – that’s all we have for you today…Please have a safe and happy Tuesday, and we’ll be here if you need us!!
