3/2/18 NPD CALL ACTIVITY REPORT

LOCK YOUR CARS – DON’T LEAVE THEM RUNNING OR UNSECURED!
Please lock your cars and DO NOT leave your vehicle running with keys in the ignition – There have been numerous car thefts reported in the Naugatuck Valley area where cars have been stolen from driveways & parking lots.

COUNTERFEITING
The Naugatuck PD is advising business and the public to be alert towards numerous complaints of counterfeit cash being distributed at business across Naugatuck.
A great deal of the counterfeit complaints have been in the $20 denomination however we have had reports of other dollar amounts being passed as well, including an incident that occurred on 2/21/18 at Stop & Shop (See following release regarding the details of that incident).

NPD asks all business to utilize counterfeit detecting pens or other devices that will help determine that bills are legitimate.

On Thursday 3/1/18 the Naugatuck PD investigated the following incidents of interest:
• Missing Person Christine CARRERO / 16 Yrs Old (Reported Missing on 2/5/18)
• ATV- Dirtbike Complaint - Maple Hill Rd @ Rt 68 (Rpt’d @ 1:05 PM) Red / White / Black Helmet - running stop signs, doing wheelies
• Suspicious Person – May Ave - Chimney services not ordered, showed up asking for check and credit card info - NY plates on vehicle
• Larceny - Salem School – Sign stolen from Rec Area
• Vandalism – To MV – Lantern Park Drive / Tires slashed on car
