10/28/2014 - NPD FACEBOOK POST 10.28.14 - TOO BAD TUESDAY
Good Tuesday Everyone,

It looks like its going to be a great weather day today… by the looks of the forecast this weekend, days like these are getting more and more rare… so enjoy!!

Ok – today is a return to “TOO BAD TUESDAY” … I will cover it in a quick rundown of the past weeks arrests… so – Here it is the TOO BAD TUESDAY – WEEK OF ARRESTS REVIEW….

• On Friday at about 3:55 – Our friends at the Wolcott PD called us to advise they made contact with Dillon Sherman who had an active arrest warrant from this agency… Ofc. McGarvey responded and gave him a ride to the NPD B&B (Bed & Breakfast)…

• On Saturday our officers were called to Aetna Street at about 1:56 in the morning after a resident heard screaming from the area… Officers located a group of adults who appeared to have been drinking…one of the individuals was Ms. Tina Vassallo and another was a male friend of Vassallo…. Male friend had his shirt off and cuts and scrapes on his face (if you’ve ever watched COPS – you know this is never a good sign)…. Vassallo stated male friend got into fight with a mystery woman ….male friend with no shirt and cuts lied and stated same …. male friend with no shirt and cuts then admitted he lied and told officers he and Vassallo fought after he told her he was staying at a friends house when they left the bar…. Vassallo was arrested for Assault 3rd and Breach of peace….

• On Saturday at about 1:56 AM Officer Baskins and Officer O’Conner were riding together when a vehicle driven by Vincent Dellefave of Monteville, NJ cut them off by turning left in front of them … (did I mention they were in a marked police car?).… Mr. Dellefave was stopped … Mr. Dellefave was found to be impaired…Mr. Dellefave was arrested for DUI and failure to grant right of way and transported to the NPD B&B….

• On Saturday at aout 2:07 PM Oficer Burns was investigating an evading vehicle accident where a vehicle struck another and in doing so smashed off the other vehicles side mirror… the vehicle then fled (Never a good plan…) …Officer Burns located a vehicle matching the description of the fleeing vehicle (This BTW is why I said it is never a good plan…). … The operator – Ms. Nagibe Hernandez was stopped and stated she had in deed sideswiped the other cars mirror…. And left … Officer Burns then discovered her license was SUSPENDED …. Hold the phone, theres more…. Officer Burns then discovered that her car had no insurance…. (BTW – if the car was found to be unregistered, this is what is known in police circles as the “Trifecta”) ….Hernandez was arrested by summons (AKA: raincheck to the NPD B&B…) and charged with Evading responsibility, Operating vehicle with a suspended license and no insurance ….Officer Burns came close but did not catch the “Trifecta”…..

• On Sunday at about 2:44 PM Officers Savoy and McGarvey investigated a fight between employees at the New Haven Road Subway… Employee Desirae Bragg stated she got into an argument with a co worker who she claimed has been posting lies about her on social media …. Bragg slapped the coworker in the face… then grabbed her by the hair …..and hit her in the face…. Bragg was brought to the NPD B&B …..and charged with Breach of Peace….

• On Monday morning at about 12:12 AM, Officer Pucci observed a vehicle driving erratically in front of him, crossing into opposite lane…. Officer Pucci stopped the vehicle… and found the driver, Ms. Bethany Tristan to smell like alcohol… Tristan said she wasn’t drinking…. Then said she was… Then it was discovered her license was suspended …yada, yada yada…Tristan was taken to the B&B and charged with DUI, Operating a vehicle with suspended license and some other motor vehicle violations….

Well, there you go… those are some of the arrests over the past week… and of course they are all unfortunate - and therefore “TOO BAD” ….

Now what have we learned on this TOO BAD TUESDAY…. Well, we learned:
• Wolcott PD WILL call us if you have a warrant from our town – they are great like that (Thanks Chief Stephens…. And yes we know – Bangor STILL owes you a dozen “D-Words”!!)

• If you go drinking with your boyfriend and friends at the bar…. And you tell her you plan to stay at a friends home for the night…. Make sure shes good with that – likewise, if you go drinking with your boyfriend and friends at the bar… and he tells you he plans to stay at a friends home for the night … make sure YOU’RE good with that !!! … Oh, and don’t lie to the police about it if you happen to not be good with it…

• If you are drunk and cut off the police …. You will probably be arrested - …. You will DEFINITLY be arrested if it happens in Naugatuck…

• If you’re license is suspended … it is an indicator from a judge that you should not be driving… judges don’t like to be disregarded…. ALSO, If your license is suspended and you drive … you probably will hit something… please – stay right there till we come… if you leave …. You will probably hit something else …. Just saying….

• If you don’t get along with a coworker…. Don’t slap, punch or pull their hair….Nuff said…

• Once more….if you’re license is suspended … it is an indicator from a judge that you should not be driving… yada – yada – yada…. - ALSO, If your license is suspended and you drive drunk … you probably will DRIVE like you are drunk…. and possibly hit something…. So please don’t drive with a suspended license …. or when you are drunk…. And definitely don’t do both!!….

So – there it is, our TOO BAD TUESDAY lesson of the weeks…. Hope we have no lesson next week…. But something tells me we will!!

Thank you and please have a happy and safe Tuesday
