Follow Up Regarding Fatal Two-Car Collision On Route 69 In Wolcott

 

On Saturday 2/3/18 at approx. 8:48 PM Wolcott Police responded to a fatal two car head-on collision on Wolcott St (Route 69) near Tosun Rd. The collision involved a Connecticut State Police Ford Crown Victoria Cruiser which was being operated by an off duty Trooper and a 2004 Ford pick up.

 

Both vehicles involved were occupied by the drivers only and both were transported to local hospitals for injuries sustained in the crash. The off Duty Trooper involved was identified as Tpr. Danielle Miller Assigned out of Troop L in Litchfield who died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The operator of the Ford Pickup was identified as 30 year old Aric Rivkin of Wolcott, who sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash and was treated and released early Sunday morning.

 

The crash is being investigated by the Regional Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team consisting of officers from Wolcott, Cheshire, Middlebury, Naugatuck & Watertown Police Departments. The investigation into the crash and the circumstances leading up to the crash will continue and is expected to take several weeks.
