FACEBOOK POST 9.18.14 - Throwback Thursday - Old NPD Motorcycle
Happy Thursday everyone,
Ok – it’s another beautiful Fall Day! Weather is expected to continue to be nice through the weekend so enjoy!.
Because its Thursday –
it of course makes this “Throwback Thursday” – So I attached a photo to go along with our earlier post of our current (and quickly becoming an antique of its own) Police Motorcycle. The photo shows Naugatuck PD’s first motorcycle, which was actually a “trike”, ridden by Sergeant Jerry Sirica.
Now , I know at first glance it resembles the good humor ice cream man, but this is how they rode back in the day – eight point hat and all…Who needs a helmet!! But this was back when men were men – when kids rode on metal swing sets and everyone watched TV on a radio… This was the heyday of Naugatuck !!
