With
the warmer weather comes more pedestrians and bikes out on the roads
….Big thank you to Officer Otis Baskins for meeting with the local Boy
Scouts Troop to review Bike Safety. Officer Baskins spoke to the kids
and parents about wearing bright clothing, sizing a bicycle, and helmet
selection.
Officer Baskins discussed basic bike riding rules of
the road such as the raising of the hand as the signal for spotting and
letting the rider behind you know that an obstacle is ahead, etc. He
also spoke with the children about wearing helmets, how to ride with
friends, how to brake, how to conquer obstacles and … when it occurs,
how to properly fall.
