...Part of having a happy 2018 will probably entail having a car ...
Most of us that own cars love the fact that it is there when we need it
... and while we love having a car we all know that they are MOST
enjoyable when they are climate friendly ...
No ... Were not talking about "Eco" friendly ... THAT is a discussion
for another time and on another social media page! ... We are talking
about having a WARM car in the winter and of course a COOL car in the
summer ...
While a "Climate Friendly" car certainly is convenient
- it losses its luster when upon returning to that car that you started
up a short time prior ...or left running while you ran back into your
house or in the store ... it is NOT THERE!
Now - I know we must
sound like your mom when we keep posting the same thing regarding cars
and leaving the running with keys in them .... BUT .... Remember that
your mom is ALWAYS right ... AND .... CAR THEFTS Continue to happen
around us...
...These thefts are not just occurring in
surrounding towns folks - they are happening right here in Naugatuck -
and in all areas.of town .. In fact, we had two cars stolen in the last
day - and we are hoping that everyone will start to make it more
difficult for these thefts to occur by taking simple steps to make
certain your car is there when you need it.
The first is to make
sure that you NEVER leave keys in a secured or unsecured car - Trust us
when we tell you that someone looking to take your car will do so in
mere seconds if the keys are left in the car - either secured or (of
course) Unsecured...
Second - If warming or cooling (hopefully
the later occurs in the summer...) your car - make an investment in an
auto starter ... they are very inexpensive and give you the added bonus
of being able to start the vehicle from a warm spot... You can also
leave the car running safely when running into the store for a quick
pick up!
From the men and women of the Naugatuck PD - Please
help us to help you keep your car - NEVER leave keys in your car and
NEVER leave your car running unattended when it is either secured or
unsecured...
Thank you - NPD!!
