does not respond to or pick up stray cats. If you have a
stray or unwanted cat, please contact the Connecticut
Humane Society for assistance and referral to additional
resources.
Animal Control will get involved in
cat incidents were a human has been bitten or scratched
and the cat needs to be quarantined. Animal Control will
also care for sick or injured cats when the owner is
unknown and will investigate incidents of cruelty or
neglect.
Wildlife:
Naugatuck Animal Control does not respond to wild animal
complaints unless the wild animal appears sick or
injured, has bitten a human or domestic animal or is
causing an immediate safety concern. Wildlife pest
issues on private property, such as a skunk or bees
nest, should be handled through a private contractor. Please contact
the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection
(DEEP) at (860) 424-3333 for further assistance or
guidance.
